A small team with a large obsession.
Velrovia Group began in 2019 with one borrowed chafing dish, a farmer’s market stall in Mbombela, and a suspicion that catering equipment could look good and work hard. Seven years later we equip weddings, hotels, churches, coffee carts and family kitchens across all nine provinces.
The best equipment disappears into the occasion.
Great catering equipment should be invisible. Nobody remembers a chafing dish. They remember the bobotie still steaming at 21:00, the pastry that stayed crisp, the coffee that kept coming. Our job is to make that reliability ordinary.
We started because we kept being handed equipment that failed in week three: handles that wobbled, elements that scaled, fridges that could not hold temperature with the door opening every few minutes. So we began importing and specifying our own, with thicker steel, replaceable parts and honest wiring diagrams, and testing everything ourselves.
Today Velrovia Group is a team of nine: two caterers, a kitchen designer, a product buyer, our workshop lead, three customer champions and a founder who still answers the phone on Saturdays.
Since 2019 we have equipped more than 2 400 venues across all nine provinces, and 96% of customers say they would recommend us.
Four promises we keep.
Test before we sell
Every appliance is cooked with in a working kitchen, often at a partner venue on a real service night, before it reaches the shop.
Advice before the sale
We will happily tell you the smaller urn is the right one. Fewer returns, better kitchens, customers who come back.
Commercial grade only
No domestic lookalikes. We specify motors, elements and steel that survive 40 to 80 cycles a day, then keep spares in stock.
An honest footprint
Consolidated deliveries, plastic-free wrapping where possible, and repairable equipment instead of disposable trends.
Who we work with
- Wedding and event caterers who need equipment that photographs well and survives load-out.
- Guest houses, boutique hotels and venues upgrading buffet and beverage stations.
- Cafés, coffee carts and bakeries scaling from home kitchen to commercial volume.
- Churches, schools and community halls buying reliable urns and warmers once, properly.
- Procurement teams needing VAT invoices, purchase orders and delivery scheduling.
